To Create is to Love
There is so much joy and fulfillment in putting work into something, then being able to reap the rewards of your own labour. This can be as simple as the daily pleasure of a nutritious prepared meal, or as complex as the warmth of a knitted sweater and beyond.
As someone who is extremely busy with many different hobbies, I'm not sure I understand my own penchant for adding work to my own plate by choosing to build a section of my personal self-made website around the work that I am doing outside of my salaried job. More labour, more joy, I suppose.
I may have had the intention of beginning the magazine project a year ago, but with no progress on that front, a knit sweater quietly became the project I could actually post about - maybe it's time to return to the magazine for some progress on that front. The scope may have to decrease as the memories are no longer as fresh.
